Fast Track to Excellence® (Analysis & Design) in the Corporate Communication department (Interface: M&A/Corporate Finance)

Starting Point

  • The interaction between Corporate Communications and M&A/Corporate Finance was criticized and therefore should be examined more closely (main focus: communication/colloquial tone, processes, organization).
  • In this context, the service offering of Corporate Communications for M&A/Corporate Finance should also be reviewed in detail to identify areas of improvements.

Approach

  • Identifying weaknesses and potential areas for action from the perspective of employees and customers using structured Focus Interviews (21 interviews in total).
  • Analyzing the top 4 topics “understanding of service”, “processes”, “organization” and “employee qualification” in detail with proven tools & techniques (e.g. brown paper workshops, RACI, “Day in the Life of…”, joint team meetings, individual interviews).
  • Analyzing performance figures, cost structures and main cost drivers as well as the employee capacities.
  • Providing recommendations for improvements including an estimation of qualitative and quantitative effects (Benefit Case).
  • Providing project designs for more complex and medium to long-term improvements as well as a concrete action plan to realize direct improvement opportunities (“quick wins”).

Deliverables/Benefits

  • Increased service level, escpecially caused by setting up a cross-functional “qualification initiative” in Corporate Communications (individual trainings & seminars, mentoring).
  • Reduced error rates and better quality of results.
  • Less working loops and more efficient workflows.
  • Improvement of the communication level as well as the working atmosphere caused by trust-building measures (thus more appreciation, respect and understanding for the “other side”).
