Developing a process-oriented functional Architecture for a Business Unit in the HealthCare Sector
Starting Point
- Insufficient transparency about the overall process of the business unit under consideration.
- Growing challenges and future demands on the process could no longer be served smoothly.
- In order to be able to cover day-to-day business, IT solutions were quickly created that were not sufficiently well thought out and not very sustainable.
- Too rigid processing patterns to serve complex requirements.
- The development of a development plan for the processing of complex requirements and the creation of transparency with regard to interrelated processes was necessary.
Approach
- Identifying the functional areas directly / indirectly relevant for the process.
- Recording of the high level process in workshops with selected participants.
- Defining the relevant information objects (high level).
- Developing an implementation strategy and its control.
- Evaluating Cost-benefits with regard to different realization scenarios.
Deliverables/Benefits
- Transparency across the entire process and its interrelationships.
- Establishment of a sustainable IT development basis in order to be able to respond to requirements more flexibly, quickly and efficiently.
- Roles and committees for implementation were created.
- The comprehensive documentation of results could be used to win over further partners for cooperation.
